(Ops on man, six dead)
In the big city of Sydney, there was a building called the "Westfield Bondi Junction". It resides in the Eastern Suburbs of Sydney, and is a large shopping centre. A top centre if you will. 3304 parking spaces, with all the big brands the Aussie needs. A non-Aussie will probably feel confused when I mention the brands, so I won't mention it.
Now in this shopping centre, comes some very shocking news: MURDAH!1!!!1!! A man came in the store and let it all out. Six stabbed and twelve injured. Five women and one man died from the chaos. One of the injured was a DAMN 9 month old girl. So he's a murderer, and also a coward. After the chaos, the police came in and shot him. Ironically, the officer that shot him went to do CPR. It didn't work.
The deceased included Cheng Yixuan, 27, a student from China; Pikria Darchia, 55, a Georgian national; Ashlee Good, 38, mother of the wounded baby; Dawn Singleton, 25, daughter of entrepreneur John Singleton, and a retail worker in the shopping centre; Faraz Ahmed Tahir, 30 , an unarmed security guard at the shopping centre and a Pakistani refugee; and Jade Young, 47. The Aftermath, well it was a lot of after. China raised their eyebrows seeing that a Chinese student was killed, the governments gave their usual statements of condemnation, and there was bound to be misinformation spread. Before we get into that, here's the actual information:
The murderer was identified as a man named Joel Cauchi, a 40 year old from Queensland. Police already had a lot of suspicions of him. He was reported to have been "acting erratically" while in the building. He was diagnosed at 17, believed to have had schizophrenia. His parents were distraught at hearing their son had committed murder, and reported to have no problem with him being shot. His own mother said that he targeted women was "because he wanted a girlfriend and he's got no social skills". His OWN MOTHER really said that. Damn. Still, screw him, and may Allah deal with him accordingly.
Speaking of which, here's the misinformation that ensued. Before the identity of this worthless man was known, there were a lot of speculations. All because he did a big stabby stabby, he was thought to be Muslim. They called in terrorism, called it a terrorist attack, all at the thought that he was Muslim. He wasn't. These lies spread decently far in the hellhole that is "X" and all other places. Perpetrators of spreading such slander included: Britain First's co-founder Paul Golding. This man is notorious for spreading hatred against Islam. His political party was described as "far-right, neo-fascist". This is the kind of people that dare spread such lies. Islamphobic hate acts spread a bit due to the false accusations.
Another lie was that the perpetrator was Jewish. First Muslims, now the Jews??? Neo-Nazis and conspiracy theorists accused a 20 year old with a Jewish surname for doing such acts, all because of his Jewish heritage. EVEN Channel 7 hopped in and accused him. Absolute shambles. They later apologised, but my god, that was outrageous.
Well there you have it. It's quite rare to see murders in Australia, and when it does happen, it lights the whole nation up. News talk about it for days, telling every bit of it. It's just that uncommon for such things to happen.
