Football Holiday Season Recap

The holiday influx of football has finished (at least for England), and here’s all the juice.

In the Premier League, we had quite the title race going on, with Arsenal and Liverpool. Aston Villa also wants a piece of silverware, and is also part of the fight. Some of the biggest shockers include Man United beating Aston Villa 3-2, Brighton ripping Tottenham 4-2, West Ham beating Arsenal 0-2, Fulham 2-1 Arsenal, and finally Liverpool 4-2 Newcastle. Because of all these losses on Arsenal, the elephant has fallen off the tree, as Liverpool are now on top. Fall they did, from 1st to 4th now, with Villa 2nd.

Over in LaLiga, the influx hasn't finished, but the title race is on. Girona is fighting for their life on that title, with 45 points equal to Real Madrid. As of writing this, Madrid are 1st. Key results include Atletico Madrid 3-3 Getafe, Barcelona 3-2 Almeria, Real Betis 1-1 Girona, and Getafe 0-2 Rayo Vallecano. Girona might not stay top tomorrow, as they face Atletico Madrid, while Real Madrid have a piss easy fixture with Mallorca.

In the Bundesliga, there was no influx, just a regular week. Leverkusen still top the league, with Bayern struggling. Key results include Leverkusen 3-0 Frankfurt, Stuttgart 3-0 Augsburg, Dortmund 1-1 Mainz (sounds familiar), and Leverkusen 4-0 VfL Bochum. 

In the Serie A, a very moderate influx. Inter are topping, with Juve behind them by 2 points. Results Include Empoli 0-2 Lazio, Inter 2-0 Lecce, Roma 2-0 Napoli, Juventus 1-0 Roma, Udinese 3-0 Bologna, 

In the farmers Ligue 1, no such influx happened. PSG are top as usual, with an unusual Nice behind them by 5 points. Key results include Nice 2-0 Lens, and PSG 3-1 Metz.
