It’s the holiday season, and this is what happens. Israel has cancelled Christmas. Why? How? Let’s find out.

When we mean Israel, we mean the Holy Land. The holy land has had all Christmas celebrations cancelled by the patriarch of Jerusalem, Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa. (he’s Italian). In Bethlehem(birthplace of Jesus) the usual Christmas decorations are nowhere to be seen, and for maybe the first time, it’s empty. Every shop and restaurant near it is closed. People were there, but not happy people.

They were mourning. Mourning for the 20K Palestinians killed in Israel’s genocide. This is the reason why the Patriarch decided to cancel Christmas. Instead, people were invited on a sad evening, to pay their respects to the dead in Palestine, which is also part of the Holy Land. The Holy Land is holy to all Abrahamic Religions, including Christianity, Judaism, and Islam.

The Patriarch was one for peace. He was strongly against Israel’s onslaught overall, but also didn’t like Hamas’s occasional killings. He truly wanted peace.

"If Jesus were born today, he would be born in Gaza ami
d the rubble.”
